Nikita Gill has written and illustrated 7 bestselling collections of poetry and three novel in verses, including the Sunday Times Bestseller and Number 1 New York Times Bestseller, Hekate. Gill has been shortlisted for the CLIPPA, the Goodreads Choice Awards and the Jhalak Prize. Her work has featured in the New York Times, the Guardian, The Sunday Times, BBC Radio 4, the Financial Times, Marie Claire, Stylist and more.
Gill’s children’s book, Animal Tales From India was published 2023 by award winning children’s publisher Nosy Crow and illustrator Chaaya Prabhat. The audiobook for Animal Tales From India narrated by Gill won Highly Commended at The Week Junior Book Awards. She also wrote a verse novel called The Angel Of Redemption for BBC Doctor Who’s 60th Anniversary in 2023.
Her mythological fantasy trilogy was bought at auction by Simon and Schuster in the United Kingdom and Little Brown in the United States. The second book of the trilogy, Styx, is due to be released in Autumn 2026.
Alongside her books, Gill has also been commissioned by The National Literacy Fund, CARE.org, Ancestry, & Other Stories, SKY TV, Hendricks Gin and more.
In music, she worked with fingerdrummer and music producer Gnarly as a fully formed band called GN. The band specialises in mythological and classical retellings told with an RnB flair.
In theatre, she has produced and acted in a solo show which premiered at the Omnibus called Maidens Myths and Monsters. She is currently working on Hekate, a play that is in development and launches on the British Library stage.
